Concise Handbook of sustainable design by Françoise-Hélène Jourda
Awareness, recently, that the planet's resources are limited will generate a revolution. Technological and cultural revolution, just as - if not more - important than the Industrial Revolution. This does not only reduce our energy consumption or find energy alternative but to maintain our capital resources, or what's left, leaving to future generations the opportunity to meet their needs.
It is now possible to construct buildings with a very low impact on the planet. We have the means. Just with the ambition to implement due to other buildings designed, whose aesthetic is still to be discovered. But we must also fix our cities, "heal" our living spaces, restore balance. Many examples are already built, experiment in progress, technical solutions available. Just "do" and teach the "how". The handbook of sustainable development for students and architectural firms is to accompany their project work through a series of questions they should ask when choosing the site, program and throughout the process design since the first sketches to the final choice of location of materials or construction detail.
Each question is accompanied by an illustration and explanatory text necessary to understand how this question is relevant to register their project with an eco-responsible.
Françoise-Hélène Jourda architect committed long standing commitment to sustainable development in construction, has made numerous pilot buildings in this area. She is also a professor at the Technical University of Vienna (Austria) where she directs the past ten years the department of architecture and sustainable development.

Besançon help its citizens to save energy
What's good for the planet can also be good for the wallet! As recalled by the Municipality of Besançon, the energy consumption in homes represents 43% of the total energy consumption in France and 25% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, energy prices are growing exponentially: + 16% for gas and + 10% for electricity directly impacting the average household costs for 2010 alone.
Besançon To help improve their carbon footprint, Besançon decided to help its citizens to reduce their consumption and thus their bills by offering since December 1, a loan service of sophisticated equipment to detect leaks energy housing, measure consumption and electricity costs of equipment and the amount of CO2 emitted.
Those are three thermal imaging cameras, to view the energy losses of a building, and 200 watt meters to measure the power and electricity consumption, which will be available for free.
The material in question will take aware of improvements and will intelligently guide future work in the homes to rectify this and secondarily to assist the municipality to meet its commitment to 20% reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions emissions to 2020 made under the European Convention of Mayors .
Specifically, loans are made with the Department of Energy Conservation Technology Centre Municipal . They are made over a period of two days for the cameras, and 7 days for the meters. Simply bring a piece identity valid, a recent proof of residence (EDF or telephone receipts, etc. ...) and a security deposit of 50 € for the loan of a power meter and 800 € for the loan of a thermal imaging camera.
Once the measurements, the direction of energy conservation will analyze the results obtained and guide those who wish to professionals able to perform work necessary to save energy.

Brick monomur, the future of the bioclimatic construction?
Building a green home is still an option but tomorrow it will become a bond with the RT 2012 with homes which will need to become energy efficient (limited consumption to 50 kWh / m² / year) from 1 January 2013 before to make the big jump in 2020 to the house with positive energy.
To achieve this, many choices of materials (wood, Thermopierre, cellular concrete, ...) faced by those who want to build as green as possible. In this context, the Brick Monomur Clay has more than one advantage.
Known for their excellent natural insulation properties, which provide for the installation of additional insulation, bricks Monomur clay provide excellent thermal resistance: in winter, walls absorb heat from the heating and rebroadcast by radiation. In summer, the walls naturally regulate temperature and keep the freshness in the house. What could be better?
Perennial in time, their composition all natural (clay) allows them to maintain the quality of the indoor environment by not being a potential source of VOCs or other toxic and allergenic (also have 2 out of 3 children with asthma at home with no history family, it makes them ask questions!).
The problem of Clay Brick Monomur today is that it is still too unknown to the general public even if it is enjoying growing success in the Eco-Building: Based on 2009 figures, 15% of the houses low consumption (BBC) are brick Monomur Clay against 8% for all houses.
So to overcome this lack of recognition and to meet the new demands of construction, the French Federation of tiles and bricks (FFTB) educational site offers a very well illustrated and provided that you will reinforce the environmental qualities in the clay brick Monomur I have not covered all aspects and direct you to an appropriate professional.

Beyond the symbolism of the event, Pinocchios the environment are a good way to advance public debate on social and environmental responsibilities of multinationals. This could be especially beneficial if companies like Crédit Agricole has sold its shares in the company Dongfeng, provider of the Burmese military following his appointment in 2009 in the category "human humans, "responded by correcting the shot rather than turning a deaf ear.

Where To Get Jockstrap Wear In Bangalore
You will resume although some pesticides? These fruits and vegetables that are poisoning us
The author has traveled all over Europe being interviewed and architects, project managers and residents to make us discover 10 eco-districts selected for their environmental relevance. Appeared in the North and East, eco-districts spread across the continent at the initiative of professionals, elected officials, but also individuals. Of What is it? Districts designed to protect the environment, energy efficient, well served by public transit and bike paths, constructed from materials healthy, recovering rainwater, promote social bonding ... For each of these eco-districts, located in Germany, Austria, Denmark, France, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland, the author presents specific characteristics, the salient points, a map legend, photos, places to go further and of course all the information gathered through the investigation. This book was written in collaboration with Nadia Jeanvoine journalist.
If still little known in France, the concept of eco-neighborhood is already well ingrained in our European neighbors. In these places, urbanism and architecture are designed to reduce our impact on the planet and improve our quality of life. Saving energy, rainwater collection, accessibility by public transport, use of healthy materials ... are the watchwords. See examples across Europe. They make you want to take the path.
Contents:
Germany - Freiburg: The heart of one of Vauban Baugruppe
Austria - Wolfurt: Building together, live individually
Denmark - Copenhagen: Dialogue for the rebirth of a neighborhood

The electric car goes up a gear in California by Exide
The California company Tesla Motors will receive a loan of $ 465 million for the establishment of a factory in southern California, which will support the construction of its new Model S. By 2012, Tesla and should produce 20,000 units of its 100% electric sports sedan. His production could reach up 40,000 or 50,000 units with variations crossover, convertible and coupe. According to Steven Chu, U.S. Secretary of Energy, investing in this way, the U.S. government wants to support the development of electric transport and, in turn, reduce U.S. dependence on oil to. Such investment is expected to create hundreds of jobs. Tesla estimates alone, the plant will create 1600. Diarmuid O'Connell, VP of the company also announced that the buildings will be located at the Stanford Research Park, and produce batteries, motors, and controllers power. It is expected that the factory also produces other components for electric vehicles developed by other automakers such as Daimler.
The Model S sedan Tesla is a 100% electric can recharge its battery from an outlet of 120V, 240V or 480V, the latter taking only 45 minutes. The base price revolves around U.S. $ 50,000. The Standard Model S goes from 0 to 96 km / h in under six seconds and has a top speed electronically limited to 209 km / hr.
Meanwhile, Better Place announced new funding of $ 350 million HSBC Group, is one of its biggest investments in "clean tech". The funds are distributed equitably among HSBC, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Lazard Asset Management. In return Adeson Kevin, Head of Global Capital Financing at HSBC, will join the Board of Directors of Better Place and take 10% stake in the company: "We are confident that Better Place has the technical and commercial solutions for enable mass adoption of electric cars in the short term. The solution of exchangeable batteries offer the customer an affordable and attractive alternative to current gasoline engines and vehicles hybrids. We expect that the Better Place model is adopted across many countries or cities, especially where markets have policies strongly support the adoption of electric vehicles. "With this new success, Better Place confirms the proper handling of its program to launch in Israel and Denmark scheduled for late 2011, when the first Renaults to exchangeable battery will be hitting the market. The company also has projects in Australia and deployment markets North America, where the launches in Denmark and Israel are finalized.
Moreover, the R & D department of the company continues to test each element of the solution Better Place, viewed in real-world scenarios like the project in Tokyo, a network of electric taxis. Agassi explains his view the proper positioning of Better Place: "Our technology and solutions, backed by our strong partnership with Renault, we have provided at least two years ahead of other approaches to vehicles using alternative energy. Our solution is the only feasible on a large scale to reduce oil consumption and significantly reduce emissions while providing electric cars customers more convenient and more affordable than cars with internal combustion. "
The objectives of Better Place and Renault are ambitious. Bring 100,000 electric car charging network associated with the batteries in the streets of Israel and Denmark to 2016. Renault plans to install the cars in the car Fluence ZE. The software will know when and where he can recharge his car, the battery charging is a key point of the deployment of electric vehicles. This partnership is part of Renault's determination to turn entirely to electric vehicles. The manufacturer had decided earlier to stop its development in the hybrid car. Nissan 44% owned by Renault will launch next year the Leaf, a full electric car is expected to produce another similar vehicle within two years. The Fluence
Ze should have a range of 100 miles after 8 hours of charging, or just 3 hours of charging in a high voltage station. Only 20 minutes are needed for a charge of 80% while 3 minutes will be sufficient to replace the battery in a Better Place station. Shai Agassi
, by 2020 half the cars sold in countries with infrastructure should be Better Place electric vehicle. A forecast which is not unanimity of players in the automotive sector. Some builders remain skeptical of the exchange model of battery that would provide unrealistic constraints on the design of electric cars and requires infrastrucutures very costly to bear.

Micron: a small electric plugged
Scope by Exide Assistance Projects, a small electric city, Simple, smart, economical and ecological as well describe its designers could see the day in 2012: Micron.
Quadricycle streamlined two-seater, the Micron can be conducted with or without a permit from 14 years, and will appeal to both young people seeking independence and mobility to those who wish to rediscover these concepts, while providing protection against rain and against shocks, unlike a scooter (although probably not for the same budget).
Equipped with an electric motor with an output power up to 13 kW, autonomy of 150 km and its maximum speed (constrained) 75 km / h. Interesting feature, it is made from recyclable materials which is in a more environmentally responsible plant (heat recovery, phytoremediation, green roof, solar panels, natural lighting and so on).
Only small problem, Exide Assistance Project is still seeking investors for his project to emerge.
If you have a few million euros to the bank or if you simply want more information, visit the following address: http://micronbyexid.com
